Breakdown of Windows 8 Games Topics Presented at //Build/

‘[Microsoft] has apparently elected to take a much riskier, and gutsier, approach: turn Windows 8 into a serious gaming platform.  Microsoft can’t help but get into “PC” gaming in a big way, because there’s no such thing as PC gaming or tablet gaming or mobile gaming. It’s all the same thing.’
Matt Asay, The Register

Here is a breakdown of the Win8 development talks presented at build. In the digests I’ve broken each section out into it’s own digest, and moved some relevant info from the various talks to where it seemed to be a logical fit to give more breadth to each discussion, I’ve also added in external links where appropriate.

  1. Games in Windows 8
  2. Windows 8 UI for Games
  3. DirectX for Games
  4. C# for Games
  5. Xbox LIVE SDK
  6. Windows Phone 8
  7. HTML5 and JavaScript

If your new to developing games specifically for Windows 8 here is a good place to start digging in.
